Submit lunar gold coins set for grading

I am planning to submit a set of lunar gold coins (1oz) to NGC. This will be the first time I've ever submitted any coins for grading. Which shipping services would you guys recommend? What are the pros and cons of submitting through a dealer?
Thanks for any advice.

Join a service your pick - but PCGS is closer and slighty higher rated than NGC to you.

Do the COUPON it's 4 or 5 coins for free with your membership - get the best LEVEL of MEMBERSHIP you'll really use it over the entire year. Print up all the CENUS coins you are into for if you lay off for a year or two rejoining. They use to send books out which I still look at to see the competition coins. Then with your membership do the other coins as you please.

I.E.

I make a long term plan like sending in 5 gold coins per month and keep to it. After four months you have some 20 or more coins already graded and slabbed. proof coins should be slabbed unless they are in a FANCY mint box. I shoulda woulda coulda sent in those Austrailia Nuggets I had - I still have some - thanks for reminding me.

But, that's me.

Thanks for the advice. I also considered PCGS but I heard that NGC's slabs are better in preventing toning. Is this true?

GOLD doesn't usually tone. Silver tones. Slabs are stored usually in rather good places like large safes with HUMIDIFIERS and/or those small packages of anti-humiditity soda type things.

Go the the web sites of NGC PCGS and compare their mmembership opportunities. It ONLY lasts a year so get all your coins that you want slabbed within that period.

In a few years join again. That's what I do.

Me "too" (like Kevin Costner in SILVERADO!) more recently.

But, if I was brand NEW I'd give PCGS a try. I just didn't like it when they lost 10 of my 1922 to 1928 Saints for 9 weeks. But, they really graded them NICELY when I got them back after complaining for 7 weeks!

But that was my MURPHY'S LAW violations. If it's gonna it's gonna happen to me. :hahaha::hahaha::fan:
